(NYT18) HOUSTON -- Dec. 22, 2007 -- TEXAS-BURGLARS-SHOOTING -- Stephanie Storey in Houston in December 2007. Storey was the fiancee of Miguel Antonio DeJesus, who was fatally shot Wednesday, Nov. 14. after robbing a Texas home. Even before the police called her the night of Nov. 14, Storey said, she knew that her fiance was dead. He was killed along with his childhood friend from Cali, Colombia, Diego Ortiz. Both men, illegal immigrants, one with a prison record, had been riddled with shotgun pellets fired by a retired computer manager, Joe Horn, who called 911 that Friday about 2 p.m. to say he was watching them break into the house next door.
