(NYT12) LOS ANGELES -- Dec. 22, 2007 -- DECORATED-GRAVES-3 -- Forest Lawn Hollywood Memorial park was decorated for the holidays in Los Angeles in December 2007. Though the tradition of decorating ancestors' graves is an ancient one, over the past decade or so, a new kind of hybrid yuletide memorial art has been flourishing. And its increasing volume and sheer exuberance are posing new challenges for cemetery officials, who find themselves issuing decorating regulations and occasionally enacting crackdowns on "nonconforming" grave decor.
