(NYT7) IN SOUTH EAST ICELAND -- Jan. 22, 2007 -- SCI-NASA-AURORA-3 --The Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, overshadow the Glacial River lagoon, known as Jokulsarlon, overlooking the Breidamerkurjokull glacier in South East Iceland, in Nov. 2004. NASA will soon launch a fleet of five spacecraft in hopes of solving the mystery of how the greenish auroras above the Earth's poles suddenly burst into shimmering multicolor lights.
