(NYT33) NEW YORK -- Feb. 9, 2005 -- NY-CHRISTO -- A jogger makes his way through a portion the installation entitled "The Gates," by the artist Christo, in New York's Central Park, Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005. The second phase of The Gates project by artist Christo has commenced as orange vinyl poles are erected along 23 miles of pedestrian paths within the park. Saffron fabric will then be hung from the poles and unfurled on February 12, 2005. The exhibition will run for sixteen days through February 27. (Keith Bedford/The New York Times) *LITE
