(NYT47) NAM KHEM, Thailand -- March 11, 2005 -- THAILAND-DEVELOP -- Amid the ruins of Nam Khem, Thailad, four photographs are propped against a tree on March 5, 2005. No one knows who they feature; the pictures just washed ashore. The tsunami that cleared the shoreline like a giant bulldozer in December presented developers with an undreamed-of opportunity, and they have moved quickly to seize it. Residents of more than 30 villages like Nam Khem are being barred from returning to the ruins of their homes, according to the Coalition Network for Andaman Coastal Community Support, a nongovernmental agency.
