(NYT40) JENIN, West Bank -- October 6, 2003 -- MIDEAST-SUICIDE -- It was a few minutes past 8 a.m. on Saturday when Hanadi Jaradat's parents in Jenin last saw her. Jaradat was barely six hours away from her death, the time it took her to travel 30 miles west across the hills to the Israeli city of Haifa and walk into a seaside restaurant. There she detonated the body-belt bomb that killed her and 19 Israelis - 14 Jews, three of them children, and five Arab Christians. Hanadi Jaradat's parents pose with six of surviving seven children at the home in Jenin of Mr. Jaradat's brother after Israeli troops blew up the Jaradat family home in the early hours of Oct. 5.
