(NYT17) ABU GHRAIB, Iraq -- Sept. 21, 2003 -- IRAQ -- Two American soldiers were killed and 13 others wounded in a mortar attack late Saturday night on a sprawling prison complex in Abu Ghraib, Iraq, about 20 miles west of Baghdad, United States militaryauthorities said. No prisoners were wounded in the attack at the complex, which holds both common criminals and some of the 4,400 Iraqis whom occupying authorities have detained as potential security risks.
