(NYT22) NEW HAVEN, Ct. -- Aug. 27, 2003 -- YALE-WORKERS-STRIKE-2 -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson says a prayer, as he lends his support in negotiations in the Yale University Investment Offices on campus at Yale University in New Haven, Ct., Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, prior to a meeting with Yale University executives to negotiate over a contract with the local Unions. Nearly 4,000 Yale University workers went on strike over wages, pensions and job security early Wednesday, a walkout that coincides with students' return to the Ivy League campus. The strikers are mostly clerical, service and maintenance workers. (Willie Allen Jr./The New York Times)
