(NYT14) UNDATED -- Aug. 30, 2002 -- ADV. FOR SUN., SEPT. 1 -- AOL-INVESTIGATION -- Three weeks ago, David M. Colburn, the chief deal maker at AOL Time Warner in charge of its business affairs department, was ousted after federal investigators and an internal inquiry by lawyers for the company began looking into the possibility that deals he negotiated may have inappropriately inflated the company's revenue. Now his departure has raised the question of whether investigators will stop at Colburn or turn their attention to the executives around and above him. An undated photo of Colburn.
