(NYT19) NEW YORK -- Aug. 27, 2002 -- MCCORMACK-PLAY -- Thomas McCormack is the former chairman, chief executive and editorial director of St. Martin's Press. McCormack is also a playwright. He wrote his first play more than 30 years ago, and now he has written his second, a comic drama about what he knows best- the publishing business and, to use his words, "what it takes'' to be a CEO, "and what it takes away.'' McCormack, shown in his New York apartment has written "Endpapers," which will play at the Variety Arts Theater in New York. (Suzanne DeChillo/The New York Times)
