(NYT28) NEW YORK -- Aug. 13, 2002 -- NY-TALK-TO-ME-2 -- Liz Barry, 24, and Bill Wetzel, 22, sit on sidewalks around New York City, not wanting anything but to hear stories. In front of them is a sign that says, "Talk to Me.'' They have gotten various responses from people throughout the city. "People have a really hard time believing we're doing it because we believe in talking,'' Wetzel said. Notes from their conversations with passers-by are often written down, when the stories they hear are interesting enough. (Andrea Mohin/The New York Times)
