(NYT43) NEW YORK -- Aug. 7, 2002 -- 9-11-MEMORIAL-2 -- Ask 20 New Yorkers how they plan to observe the anniversary of Sept. 11 and you get at least 10 different answers. But it will be impossible not to be reminded. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced on Tuesday that there would be a daylong, five-borough commemoration of the terrorist attack that destroyed the World Trade Center, killed more than 2,800 people and ushered in a new era in the history of the country and the city. There will be solemn ceremonies at ground zero, concerts in every borough and candlelight vigils. David Rodriguez with his wife, Jody, and daughter, Madison, at the ABC Park on Houston Street, said they would open a store in September despite the anniversary. "The fact of the matter," he says, "is you have to go on living your life." She added, "If you have children, you have no choice but to keep going." (Alan Chin/The New York Times)
