(NYT15) NEW YORK -- Jan. 15, 2003 -- PUNK-REVIVAL-2 -- The program "Total Request Live'' plays MTV's 10 most requested videos every afternoon. "TRL'' celebrated its fourth anniversary last September, and the show has long been associated with the teen-pop boom. These days, though, teen pop is in remission, and MTV executives think they may have identified its successor: punk rock, featuring bands like The Donnas, The Used, Simple Plan, New Found Glory and Good Charlotte. Bert McCracken, lead singer of the band, "The Used," performs at "Total Request Live" at MTV studios on Broadway on Jan. 14, 2003. (Ting-Li Wang/The New York Times)
