(NYT56) WASHINGTON -- Feb. 26, 2003 -- TITLE-IX -- A federal commission formed to examine Title IX, the 1972 law that forced schools to offer women equal opportunity in sports, delivered its final report Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, recommending that the law be retooled to ensure that new sports opportunities for girls and women do not come at the expense of boys' and men's teams.
