(NYT33) CRANSTON, R.I. -- Feb. 19, 2003 -- RI-CLUB-OWNERS -- As investigators surveyed the charred ruins of the Station nightclub, flowers in memory of victims adorned a fence at the site on Monday, Feb. 24, 2003. In the immediate hours after 97 people died in a fast-moving fire at a West Warwick nightclub last week, much of the focus centered on the heavy-metal band whose pyrotechnics had ignited the blaze. The club's owners were described as a pair of industrious brothers, they were local boys, well-liked and conscientious. But four days after the fourth-deadliest fire in the nation's history, the band, Great White, has left the state. And the brothers have fallen under closer scrutiny.
