Students from neighboring Sang’a Primary School visit Borana Conservancy, Kenya, to learn about the importance of natural ecosystems as part of the ‘Mazingira Yetu’ program, which means ‘our environment’ in Kiswahili, on September 7, 2023. On safari they saw elephant, cape buffalo, gazelle and zebra, and back at the center they learned about the importance of understanding the role of soil, hydrology, grasslands, forests, and how these elements contribute to sustaining all life.
Horseback safaris allow you to journey slowly and more fully immerse yourself in the ecosystem you’re exploring. The concept of the horseback safari originated in Kenya back in the 1970s and has since expanded to a number of conservancies across the African continent. Since wildlife perceives horses as just another animal you can fly under the radar and experience one-of-a-kind close-up encounters from a horse-eye view.
