More than 5,000 actors and their supporters gathered in Los Angeles yesterday to take part in a mass strike organised by the Screen Actors Guild. Famous names from the stage and screen, including Susan Sarandon, Marisa Tomei, Tim Robbins and James Gandolfini took part in the demonstration, held in protest over commercial advertisers decision to abandon 'pay-per-play' fees in favour of a one off payment for unlimited use of an actor's performance. Many stars chose to make speeches at the rally, calling for advertising agencies to take part in open negotiations. Hollywood legends Richard Dreyfus, Paul Newman and Joyce Randolph were some of those who took to the podium. *REX FEATURES*
