I was scared of the national service because I graduated, so I fled to Sudan. I worked in Khartoum as a home schoolteacher for a while but then I decided to go to Europe, which is for me a land of opportunity, peace and safety. I went to Libya by car. I stayed in a house with other people for seven months because outside, in the streets, there is war. Sometimes they used to come into the house also to take people but they never took me because I was accompanying a sick lady. I was so scared they would come to rape us, kill us or make us slaves. Traffickers also fled at some point, because they were afraid of being killed too. They helped us reach the boat on the beach, by phone. I ended up on the plastic boat with 115 people. We were saved by Open Arms. Now, I hope it gets better. I hope I can continue my studies and become a lawyer".
