When my husband died, his parents kicked me out of the house with my 5 children. I went to my mother's house and she also kicked me out, telling me there was no room. The only one who welcomed me was my sister, a nurse, even though she had 2 kids of her own. But my children could no longer go to school because of the stigma so I decided to leave this country and go to Italty. It's the Italians who saved me in Guinea so I know they will save me again and not behave the way my parents did. I took the road: I walked for 2 weeks in the desert from Algeria to Libya. On the road, I was raped by 2 men in turn: one was holding the gun on my head while the other was raping me. I arrived to Tripoli by foot. It was so cold, I saw people dying on the road... and the driver hit us. They was a girl with me who I watched die this way, after being raped by those men. In Tripoli, I went straight to the beach and got on the boat. I was scared and vomiting but I held on. And then, we were saved. Now I just want to bring my children with me, because I cannot live without them".
