The 4ft-long monster has been ravaging everything in its path at Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium. But luckily, the huge creepy crawly only has a taste for coral in a display tank at the west country attraction. Staff were left scratching their heads as to why their popular reef display was being devastated over recent months. They were left puzzled by violent attacks on their fragile living reefs - in some cases the corals had been literally cut in half. But after staking out the display for several weeks, the aquarists decided as a last resort to take it apart rock by rock. Halfway through the process the terrifying perpetrator was finally revealed - a giant reef worm (Eunice aphroditois). Staff eventually lured it out with fish scraps - but not before it BIT THROUGH a 20lb fishing line.
