Apollo 13 crew from left to right James A. Lovell, Thomas K. Mattingly, and Fred W. Haise in their space suits in this 11 December 1969 file photo. Mattingly was replaced by John L. Swigert Jr for the 13 April 1970 take-off. Apollo 13's lunar landing plans were scuttled after a Service Module oxygen tank blew up during the mission, with astronaut James Lovell Jr famously announcing, "Hey Houston, we've got a problem here." Finally the crew was able to landed safely in the Pacific Ocean, almost four days after the explosion. AFP PHOTO / NASA
