A deer pokes out its tongue towards a photographer. The cheeky red deer was spotted at Studley Royal Deer Park in Ripon, North Yorks. Anthony Mulligan, 49, from Newcastle Upon Tyne said, "I was visiting the park for the beginning of the annual rut. I was stood behind a tree when this fella walked in my direction as it hadn’t seen me. Because I was behind a tree and use a telephoto lens the deer wasn’t too bothered by my presence." "It looks like the deer is being cheeky, sticking its tongue out at me. I remember calling it a ‘cheeky beggar’ at the time of taking the photos. Just seeing deer in their own environment and being lucky enough to capture a small part of their lives gives me great satisfaction."
