The installation "The Duchess of Carnegie Hall," with photos and an 8-by-10 camera Sherman used to take portraits of celebrities will be featured at the New-York Historical Society in 2017. Hundreds of people over the years -- including contemporary figures like Tilda Swinton -- found their way to Sherman, many to sit in front of the commandingly monumental 1930s camera that, she said, had been her father's.
