Braves Field; Jim Tobin is a pitcher, but here we show him to you as a slugger. Tobin on May 12 hit a home run while serving as a pinch hitter, but on May 13, Tobin who was pitching against the Chicago Cubs walloped three home runs in a single game setting a modern record for hitting by pitchers. Not since 1886 has this happened. These pictures were made on May 16, 1944 in Boston in anticipation that Tobin might hit well again.
