Fired by a Mother's Day sermon in 1946 after the lost her son in war, Mrs. Victoria Booth Demarest founded World Association of Mothers for peace. It has now about 600 members in six states. Two foreign units one in Japan and another in Brazil total about 600 members. Mrs. Demarest, who has preached and lectured in churches, Bible conference and before women's groups for the past 30 years, is the granddaughter of William and Catherine Booth, who founded the Salvation Army.
