Tony Vanneri was questioned in Denver by agents of the Department of Justice when a letter alluding to the Lindbergh case was found in his home, Sept. 30, 1934. The letter, mailed to Vanneri less than a month after the baby was stolen, was post-marked Minneapolis and sent to Vanneri in Chicago a postscript read: ??sElla says hello and wants to know if you know who had the Lindbergh baby boy. I was surprised when I found out.??? Vanneri said the letter was sent him by Thomas Kinselle, and that he thought the postscript was meant to be a joke. (AP Photo)
