One of three people, with his hands up, is taken into custody by Simi Valley police, Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, after leaving a house police had under surveillance while looking for William Skidmore, a suspect wanted in connection with the kidnapping and slaying of 15-year-old Nicholas Markowitz . Marcowitz was killed allegedly because his half-brother, Benjamin, owed about $1,200 for drugs. The three who had just left Skidmore's house, were taken to a police station where they reportedly confirmed that Skidmore was inside the house. Skidmore was later arrested at the house. The person in the photo was not among those arrested. (AP Photo/Joey Terrill)
