British anti-tank gun in action against the German armed forces in the western desert, Libya, on Dec. 7, 1941. During the time this picture was taken there were three enemy tanks attacking, but all were put out of action, one being destroyed and the others badly damaged. Note the heap of shell cases in the foreground. Bottom- the crew of the anti-tank gun with the Nazi flag that was draped round the turret of the German tank. The gunners described this tussle with the enemy as the most exciting time that we have ever had. (AP Photo)
