Story from Jam Press (Thinnest Ever Dog) Pictured: Scooby shortly after being rescued. Neglected dog dubbed ‘thinnest ever’ now looks like different pooch after doubling in weight in just 11 months A neglected dog dubbed the “thinnest ever” when he was found now looks like a different pooch after doubling in weight in just 11 months. The poor lurcher - called Scooby - was so skinny, “every single bone” was visible under his skin. He was found in his vile owner Louise Danher’s house, living in squalor and just “days” from dying. Scooby was curled up on a dirty cushion in the utility room with no food or water. The three-year-old weighed just 20kg (44.09 Ibs). A vet gave him a body condition score of one out of nine. He was saved by the RSPCA on February 6 and has been nurtured back to health. Scooby now tips the scales at 38kg (83 Ibs). He is now looking for a new home and someone to love him. Danher, 31, admitted causing unnecessary suffering to Scooby at her home in Kingsway, Prescot, Liverpool. She has been banned from keeping animals for a decade, as reported on NeedToKnow. RSPCA Inspector Lisa Lupson told Liverpool magistrates court: “Inside a utility area that was off the kitchen I saw a tan coloured lurcher type dog curled up on a dirty cushion. “I was informed the dog was called Scooby. “I was shocked by his bodily condition. He was emaciated with every single bone protruding from beneath his skin.” After the case, she added: ““This was a very sad and upsetting case of neglect. Scooby was one of the thinnest dogs that I had ever seen that was still standing. “I’m so pleased we got to him in time.” Kay Hawthorn, manager of the Wirral & Chester Branch Animal Centre - where he was looked after - said: “Scooby was skeletal when he arrived. “He was so weak and listless that we weren’t sure whether he was going to make it. “The vet said it was likely he would have died of starvation within a couple
