Tourists wait in line for a bus to get to their cruise trip, in Barcelona, Spain, on September 1, 2024. Last year Port Vell received 803 ships carrying 3.5 million passengers, breaking a pre-pandemic record by 13.7 per cent. Locals say this kind of tourism should be restricted, they call them ‘ Pee and tea’ because they only visit the city and pollute it and any meals they eat on the ship.
