(NYT63) MONTREAL -- July 27, 2007 -- TV-KIDS-IN-HALL-2 -- Bruce McCulloch carrying Scott Thompson during their performance at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. The comedy troupe Kids in the Hall had a sketch series for five seasons on HBO in the late 1980s and early 1990s, gaining them a cult following and helping to pave the way for anarchic, barrier-pushing comedy on mainstream TV. They have mostly gone their separate ways, but they reunited last week for three performances at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, and as a challenge to themselves wrote a new 90-minute show.
