(NYT52) NEW YORK -- Sept. 11, 2001 -- TERROR-RDP-52 -- A man and an iinjured woman walk down a street in downtown Manhattan shortly after the collapse of the World Trade Center towers, Tuesday. In what appeared to be parallel attacks on quintessential symbols of American financial and military power on Tuesday morning, planes slammed into both towers of the World Trade Center in Manhattan, and then a short time later another crashed into the Pentagon, outside Washington. Both of the 110-story towers at the World Trade Center collapsed some minutes apart about an hour later. (Alan Chin/The New York Times)
