(NYT72) LAS VEGAS -- Feb. 10, 2007 -- BKN-LAS-VEGAS-3 -- The Sports Book board at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in February 2007. For the first time, a non-NBA city will play host to the All-Star Game. Las Vegas, one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country without a professional sports team, wants to showcase itself as worthy of becoming a full-time major league city. The odds, however, that the NBA or any other league will soon come to Las Vegas for more than just a vacation -- through relocation or expansion -- are low. For now.
