(NYT53) DUBLIN, Ireland -- June 1, 2006 -- IRELAND-FRENCH-WORKERS-2 -- Paul-Henry Walter in Dublin, Ireland in May 2006. Walter, who has been working in Ireland for six months, found a job quickly. He applied, was called, and started in two weeks. Dublin might seem an unlikely destination for young French men and women in search of work. The weather would jar anyone from the Cote d'Azur. And the food is basically what the Michelin restaurant guide might consider just another form of vulcanization. Yet cohorts of young French men and women are deserting France to come live and work in this city of 900,000, focus of the emerald economic boom. (Derek Speirs/The New York Times)
