(NYT28) NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Oct. 5, 2005 -- LOUISIANA-SYMPHONY-2 -- Musicians with the Louisville Symphony Orchestra, from left to right, Tanya Solomon, Mollie Pate, Scott Slapin, obscured rear center, Bert Callahan, Amy Leonard, Jane Gabka, after a second day of rehearsal on Oct. 3, 2005. For a few days this week, a piece of the old New Orleans came back to life: the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra met, rehearsed and played music together for the first time since Hurricane Katrina scattered them like a spray of 16th notes. Traveling from around the country, the musicians gathered as guests of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra for a concert in their benefit on Oct. 5th. (Amy Dickerson/The New York Times)
