(NYT31) DAHUIYEH, Iran -- Feb. 23, 2005 -- IRAN-QUAKE-4 -- Fatimeh Mirzai looks for belongings amidst what is left of her home in Dahuiyeh, Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005. Rescuers used dogs and heavy equipment on Wednesday in their search for survivors of a powerful earthquake in central Iran, but there was little hope of finding many more people alive under the heavy mud-brick debris dampened by overnight rain. The Iranian interior minister said around 8,000 houses had been destroyed and the death toll would probably reach 500. (Aslon Arfa/The New York Times)
