(NYT38) BLAINE, Wash. -- March 4, 2005 -- CANADA-MARIJUANA-5 -- A U.S. Customs officer holds a bag of seized B.C. Bud, a highly potent form of marijuana named for the Canadian province where it is grown, at the Customs and Border Protection office in Blaine, Wash., on Feb. 23, 2005. A new wave of drug trafficking, with Northwest Washington and Seattle a key transit point, comes as an enormous challenge to United States law-enforcement agents stationed along the often-invisible border between the two countries.
