They are among the trans fat-free foods Dunkin' Donuts featured in their stores. Scientists contend that trans fat, a component of the oil, is more dangerous than the fat it replaced. Replacing it with healthier oils might prevent as many as 100,000 cardiac deaths a year, and a small but growing body of research has connected it to metabolic problems.
