(NYT41) NEW YORK -- May 1, 2005 -- BBA-YANKEES-BLUE-JAYS-2 -- Alex Rodriguez, who walked three times on Sunday, May 1, 2005, was thrown out at the plate by Gregg Zaun in the fifth inning trying to score on Hideki Matsui's double against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees used six pitchers and twice lost a lead as Toronto rallied for an 8-6 victory to take two of the three games in the weekend series. The Yankees (10-15) have lost six of their nine series this season, with one tie. They also hobbled away from a nine-game homestand in which they mustered three victories.
