(NYT26) FRANKFURT, Germany -- May 31, 2004 -- KUBRICK-GERMANY -- A visitor to the Stanley Kubrick exhibition stands near a bust of Roman senator Gracchus, from the film "Spartacus," near a poster for the film "Lolita," in the Deutsches Filmmuseum and Deutsches Architektur Museum in Frankfurt in April, 2004. At center, a sofa titled "Bocca", by Salvador Dali. Kubrick seems to have saved almost everything from his half-century career, stuffing 10 rooms of his rambling estate north of London with thousands of artifacts: scripts, letters, drawings, photographs, costumes, props, scale models and even technical equipment. Three years after his death in 1999, the Deutsches Filmmuseum in Frankfurt got permission from Kubrick's widow to sort through the effects, with a view to putting on the first major retrospective of his work.
