(NYT1) KFAR DAROM, Gaza Strip -- June 21, 2004 -- MIDEAST -- An Israeli tank engaged in a chase after Palestinian gunmen during an exchange of fire near the Jewish settlement of Kfar Darom in the Gaza Strip, Monday, June 21, 2004. A Palestinian motar attack on the agricultural area of the settlement left a foreign worker dead. The worker, from Thailand, was hit by shrapnel in the chest and died while receiving medical treatment from Israeli authorities. Israel reported that exchanges of fire took place.
