(NYT11) BOULDER, Utah -- October 23, 2003 -- CITY-SLICKERS-3 -- City slickers have long been going to the West to play cowboy, but until recently, they mostly ended up at "dude" ranches - high-end places that specialized in guests, not cattle, and were as likely to offer massages and tennis courts as wrangling. But the tough economics of cattle ranching these days have a growing number of small working ranches opening themselves up to paying guests.
