(NYT42) RAWALPINDI, Pakistan -- March 2, 2003 -- MOHAMMED-ARREST -- It was in Rawalpindi, Pakistan's affluent Westridge district that the Pakistani authorities triumphantly announced the arrest of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, along with an unidentified Middle Eastern man and a Pakistani man, Ahmed Qadoos. The home belongs to Qadoos' elderly parents, but the son, 42, also lived there with his wife and two children. Mohammed, who is on the FBI's list of most-wanted terror suspects and is believed to have been the operational planner of the Sept. 11 attacks against the United States, was quickly handed over to the Americans for questioning at an undisclosed foreign location. The home in Rawalpindi where Mohammed and Qadoos were arrested early Saturday, March 1, 2003. The house as seen on Sunday, March 2, 2003. (EriK Eckholm/The New York Times)
