(NYT49) NEW YORK -- September 8, 2003 -- 9-11-VIGNETTES-III -- Dave Fontana, was one of 12 firefighters lost on Sept. 11 from Squad 1, the elite fire company in Park Slope, Brooklyn. After looking at a house in Staten Island, Marian Fontana, for the first time, thought that maybe she could leave the small apartment in Park Slope where she saw his firehouse almost every day. Now, she and Aidan, 7, are living in Staten Island, where Fontana is becoming more of a suburban mom, but she is still a widow. Marian and Aidan, in their new house, Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003.
