(NYT3) NEW YORK -- August 22, 2003 -- Adv. for Sunday, Aug. 24 -- INVEST-HEDGE-FUNDS -- Wall Street investment banks are sponsoring hundreds of invitation-only gatherings a year to help hedge funds find new investors, though the Securities and Exchange Commission prohibits hedge funds from advertising or promoting themselves in the media.
