(NYT19) FERNLEY, Nev. -- Jan. 24, 2003 -- Adv. for Sun., Jan. 26 -- INTERNET-SALES-TAX -- The possibility of an online sales tax has grown drastically in recent weeks, as the magnitude of state budget deficits has worsened and the relatively bountiful holiday selling season of Internet retailers has become clear. But some large business groups have added new obstacles to such a tax. Amazon.com participated in the deliberations that created the states' plan but is not satisfied with the results.
