(NYT25) LOS ANGELES -- March 1, 2003 -- B.B.-KING-6 -- The last of the great bluesmen, B.B. King, who has sold more than 40 million records, has struggled his entire life to earn respect for himself and his music. Today, King, 77, travels relentlessly around the country, as consumed with performing and recording as he was 30 years ago. King at his laptop computer set up in his touring bus -- while in Los Angeles in Sept. 2002 -- where he records thousands of tracks of music on his MP-3 drives during his time on the road. King picks his favorite songs from satellite music stations and CD's. (Monica Almeida/The New York Times)
