(NYT4) GULF OF MEXICO -- Jan. 27, 2003 -- SCI-GULF-SHIPWRECK-2 -- An unmanned, remote-controlled underwater explorer is launched from the deck of the Rylan T. Marine archaeologists with Texas A&M University are trying to find out the history (and even the name) of a ship that sank off in the Gulf of Mexico not far from the mouth of the Mississippi. But so far, all they have experienced is "bad voodoo" in efforts to learn anything about the ship. (Kenneth Chang/The New York Times)
