(NYT18) UNDATED-- Nov. 13, 2002 -- SAVANNAH-FILM-FEST-2 -- Three short films shown at the Savannah Film and Video Festival in late October and early November reflected a desire to portray the cultural impact of figures who are deadeningly familiar but at the same time distant and enigmatic. "Edgar Allan Poe: Tales of Mystery,'' directed by Jose A. Acosta, is a three minutes short, in which, Poe, portrayed in animation, auditions over and over, always unsuccessfully, for the role of himself. (The New York Times)
