Ethiopia, 03 November 2013 Ariet Kwot, says she is 50 but is clearly older. Ajang is Ariet???s only surviving daughter (she had 4 daughters). Ariet relies on her daughter for care as she has contracted leprosy. Ajang works on other people???s farms to earn some money or to be paid in food. Ariet says life for her hasn???t changed since being relocated ??" it was bad there, it is bad here. The village of Thenyi in Gambella is only three years old. The Anuak people living there were relocated to the site as part of the Government ???Villagisation??? program that seeks to bring, according the the Ethiopian Government, essential services to the people of Gambella.
